How The Mighty Have Fallen

Germany now has 5.2 million unemployed according to German economists. The former economic power house may soon be swapping places with previous EU aid receivers such as Ireland and Spain to become to become a net beneficiary of EU funds. Germany's rigid labour laws are the cause of this not reunification as the Left would have people believe. The powerful unions in Germany will protest any labour market reforms designed to stop the decline. Perhaps a "winter of discontent" circa Britain 1978-9 might change German public opinion. I wonder if they will get a Maggie too?
